ABOUT
Mike Chiavaro is an American bassist, music operations leader, and on-screen performer. He is best known for portraying Garry Tallent, Bruce Springsteen's longtime bassist, in the upcoming 20th Century Studios feature film, “Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere” (2025). The film, which stars Jeremy Allen White as Bruce Springsteen and chronicles the making of Springsteen’s Nebraska album, premiered to positive reviews at the 52nd Telluride Film Festival.
A graduate of the Eastman School of Music with a degree in Jazz Performance and Contemporary Media, Chiavaro has worked with artists including Richard Marx, Derek Trucks, John Patitucci, Eric Krasno, Boy & Bear, and Kasim Sulton. He has also recorded with eminent producers such as Phil Ramone, Jack Douglas, Jay Messina, and Dave Cobb.
Mike is a founding member of the dynamic instrumental trio King Canyon (with Eric Krasno and Otis McDonald), and his unique approach to the instrument has been featured multiple times in Bass Magazine. His collaboration with John Patitucci and Otis McDonald on the track “Put It Down” was recently highlighted in a Bass Magazine World Premiere.
Chiavaro is the Co-Founder of TrackTribe, a music production company whose music, which he co-wrote and performed, has been featured on The Tonight Show and in major motion films like Paradise City (2022) and Detective Knight: Independence (2023).
In parallel with his creative work, Mike is a recognized leader who's spent over 15 years driving operational efficiency and scaling content management initiatives in the digital media and music space. He currently leads the Music Content Operations team at YouTube, where he focuses on enhancing the quality and coverage of several music products.
